What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most trusted English proficiency test, accepted by over 11,000 institutions globally.
It assesses your abilities in four keyareas: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Types of IELTS Test :
IELTS offers two main test types: Academic and General. Both assess your Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills. While Speaking and Listening are the same for both, the Reading and Writing sections differ to match your goals—whether for higher education or immigration/work purposes.
In addition to Academic and General tests, IELTS Life Skills is a UK government-approved SELT. It evaluates only Speaking and Listening skills—ideal for those applying for specific UK visa categories.
IELTS Academic tests your readiness for study or professional registration in English-speaking countries, focusing on academic language and communication skills.
IELTS General is for migration or non-degree study, testing English skills needed for everyday social interactions and workplace communication.
IELTS Life Skills (SELT) is for UK visa, residency, or citizenship applicants, assessing essential English speaking and listening skills.
